چکیده

The dopamine receptor subtype in brain is DRD1. This receptor modulates several cellular functions and its expression has been studied in detail concerning extracellular signaling. A publication [1] indicates that there is also miRNA regulation (suppression) of DRD1 transcription and translation due to miR-142-3p interaction with the DRD1 3'-untranslated region (1,277 bp) of the DRD1 mRNA. This affects dopamineand cAMP-regulated phosphoprotein of 32 kDa (DARPP-32) expression as well, consequently [1].

No evidence for genetic association between DARPP-32 (PP1R1B) polymorphisms and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has a strong genetic basis, and evidence from human and animal studies suggests that a dopamine system dysfunction plays a role in the disorder pathophysiology. Several genes involved in dopamine neurotransmission have shown replicated genetic association with ADHD. These include the dopamine receptors D4 (DRD4), D5 (DRD5), and the dopamine transp...

Neurobiology of Disease Differences between Dorsal and Ventral Striatum in Drd1a Dopamine Receptor Coupling of Dopamine- and cAMP- Regulated Phosphoprotein-32 to Activation of Extracellular Signal-Regulated Kinase

Dopamine receptor signaling exhibits prominent plasticity that is important for the pathogenesis of both addictive and movement disorders. Psychoactive stimulants that activate the dopamine D1 receptor (Drd1a) induce the rapid phosphorylation and activation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2) in neurons of the nucleus accumbens and ventral striatum. This response is known to b...

Cocaine self-administration in mice is inversely related to phosphorylation at Thr34 (protein kinase A site) and Ser130 (kinase CK1 site) of DARPP-32.

The reinforcing effect of cocaine is associated with increases in dopamine in the striatum. The phosphoprotein DARPP-32 (dopamine- and cAMP-regulated phosphoprotein) has been shown to mediate the intracellular events after activation of dopamine receptors. DARPP-32 is phosphorylated at multiple sites by different protein kinases, but little is known about the functional role of these different ...

Nicotine regulates DARPP-32 (dopamine- and cAMP-regulated phosphoprotein of 32 kDa) phosphorylation at multiple sites in neostriatal neurons.

Nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) regulate dopaminergic signaling in the striatum by modulating the release of neurotransmitters. We have recently reported that nicotine stimulates the release of dopamine via alpha4beta2(*) nAChRs and/or alpha7 nAChRs, leading to the regulation of DARPP-32 at Thr34, the site involved in regulation of protein phosphatase-1 (PP-1). In this study, we inve...

Regulation of CXCR4-mediated invasion by DARPP-32 in gastric cancer cells.

Although Dopamine and cAMP-regulated phosphoprotein, Mr 32000 (DARPP-32) is overexpressed in two-thirds of gastric cancers, its impact on molecular functions has not been fully characterized. In this study, we examined the role of DARPP-32 in gastric cancer cell invasion. Using matrigel-coated Boyden chamber invasion assay, DARPP-32-overexpressing AGS cells showed a three-fold increase in invas...
